Port Arthur Curling Centre Champions Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion for All

August 2, 2023 – The Port Arthur Curling Centre (PACC) is thrilled to unveil its new name and proudly announces the appointment of its first female president.

The PACC Board of Directors announces a change in name, from Port Arthur Curling Club to Port Arthur Curling Centre, representing their commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for curlers and community members of all backgrounds. The curling centre’s rebranding efforts are a significant step forward in its evolution, embracing a new era that welcomes all.

The appointment of Kelly Latoski as the first female president is a landmark moment for the 136-year-old curling facility. With her visionary leadership, Kelly brings a fresh perspective to the role. “Embracing change is at the heart of the Port Arthur Curling Centre,” said President Latoski. “We are making a statement that equity, diversity, and inclusion are our top priorities. Together, we will work to create a curling centre that reflects the true diversity of our community. We are proud to break barriers and welcome individuals from all walks of life to experience what curling has to offer.”

Her appointment denotes a significant stride towards gender equality and serves as an inspiration for young curlers, particularly female and gender diverse individuals, to pursue leadership positions in the sport.
